Account & Data Deletion

Nirnay TV respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and any personal data associated with it. It is provided in compliance with Google Play's data-deletion requirements and India's DPDP Act, 2023.

Instant, in-app: Open the App → Profile → Logout to immediately clear your session, saved articles, reading history, and preferences from that device. To also remove your account and all cloud data, use the request process below.

1. What data is associated with your account

Your Google profile information (name, email, profile photo);
All saved / bookmarked articles linked to your account;
Your reading history and "Articles Read" counter;
Your push-notification device token;
Your in-app preferences (language, Dark Mode, notification settings).

2. How to request full account deletion

Email admin@nirnaytv.com from the email address linked to your Google account, using the subject line "Data Deletion Request", and include:

Your full name as it appears in the App;
The email address associated with your Google sign-in;
Whether you want full account deletion or deletion of specific data only (e.g., saved articles).

3. Response & completion timeline

We acknowledge deletion requests within 48 hours and complete verified deletions within 30 days. You will receive written confirmation once your data has been deleted.

4. What we permanently delete

All personal data listed in Section 1 is permanently removed from our active systems, including our Supabase database, upon a verified request or account deletion.

5. What may be retained

Aggregate, anonymous statistics that cannot be linked back to you;
Records we are legally required to retain, kept only for the period mandated by law and then deleted.

6. Reinstallation

Deleting the App from your device does not by itself delete your cloud account. To fully remove cloud data, use Section 2. You can create a new account any time by signing in again.
